Esther 5:2 (NIV) ~ When he saw Queen Esther standing in the court, he was pleased with her and held out to her the gold scepter that was in his hand. So Esther approached and touched the tip of the scepter.

My thought for today

I have often wondered where all the respect and awe for our King, our Majesty Jesus Christ our Messiah, gone? If you were to read the preceding verse, you would see that prior to approaching the king’s presence, Esther put on her royal robes. In other words, she dressed for the occasion; she prepared herself to meet with the King. She approached the outer the palace with caution and respect, then she entered the inner court of the palace in front of the king’s hall, facing the entrance.

It is important to note that in those days you would dare not enter into the palace without an invitation from the King. Such a disrespectful act was one which merited you being killed. In Esther chapter 4 verse 16, we are able to grasp some insight into this, from the very words of Esther as she talks to Mordecai, “Go, gather together all the Jews that are…
